Resources

There’s no shame in reaching out for extra help. YAP proudly endorses these local and national resources for anyone who may need them.

Courage First: Athlete Helpline

Athletes, coaches, and parents can receive support over the phone. Services that can be provided include crisis response, mental well-being intervention, informational resources, and reporting guidance for concerns about emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. Support can be received over the phone, online, or by text.

Agora Crisis Center

Community members can utilize Agora as a hotline (for emergencies) or a warmline to receive emotional support and referrals. Agora is trained in crisis intervention strategies, but you do not need to be in crisis to call. Hours are 6:00 AM-12:00 AM, seven days a week.

The Trevor Project provides suicide prevention services and emotional support for LGBTQIA+ young people. Services are offered over the phone, online, or by text. Peer support is also offered on TrevorSpace for those looking to connect with fellow queer folks.

Trevor Project Lifeline

RAINN

RAINN is a resource for those who have experienced, witnessed, or been affected by sexual violence. They offer a National Sexual Assault Hotline that can be utilized over the phone or through an online chat. This support is available 24/7 for those who need it.

The National Alliance for Eating Disorders

The Alliance provides support for those who are struggling with any type of Eating Disorder or disordered eating. The Alliance offers a helpline run by licensed therapists to offer treatment referrals, crisis intervention, and emotional support. Weekly support groups are held virtually and available to anyone who needs it.
